The whispered rumors in the night are true! The 7 plate clutch mod works great!
I've owned an '82 Heritage Special for 20ish years. It was built from at least 2, maybe 3 bikes, so it's a mix and match for sure.
The stars aligned and I got serious about building it into a street tracker BUT, after all the time and money spent making it look good, the clutch always seemed to be a weak link. It never grabbed hard and under heavy throttle would slip.
I got the "7 friction plates and 1 steel mod"
from gggary during the Ozark Rally a couple weeks ago. Got it installed today and immediately could feel that the clutch was locking up solid. A couple of quick adjustments and finding neutral is easier than ever before, as well!
