73TX getting some new love

I’ve been staying quite focused on getting this 73TX back to its original condition when it was sold new to the best of my ability.Still have that mindset, however listening to old Johnny Cash tunes “One piece at a time and Ring of fire”……No more of that 🎼 while working on this bike. All the original large parts from this bike that are chrome are cleaned and loosely attached to it.Going through the original chrome smalls and cleaning them over the weekend.

Did you just use that silver hammered paint for the inside of the hubs?

Bike is looking good!!

Original TX 73 frames have a restrictive stop for the swingarm pivot shaft bolt. The remaining original 72 XS2’s Ser#’s S650100730 and S650119689 I have reflect there is no frame restrictive stop.

Adding/clarification my point to share is;It was interesting to learn that a 73 bolt will work on a 72 but a 72 doesn’t work on a 73 without grinding one side off to clear the frame tab/lock.In case you get in a hurry and ding the original and need to dig a spare, ask me how I know.🥴

Blasted a couple remaining small parts for this 73TX along with some other parts for a couple other projects this afternoon.Early spring fever no doubt.Decided to do some T & A with the spare early tank I had done and ready for paint.Using it now as I begin to acquaint myself to the latest available final color products.Love the HOC 3000 series Surfacer/Sealer.73 Metallic Flake Blue is on my mind.🎨🧐✅.

Yep,I’m old and enjoying learning more about original data.My 6 year older friend, now brother in law got digging and found his original owners manual from his 73TX.There was only 2 purchased new in this rural area. I have a couple/few early original owners manuals.None 73TX.Is there any notable significance needed for study or worthwhile pursuit of the numbers on this particular manual.
