I’m looking for information about what size or where to buy these bolts for my exhaust on 1975 xs. Diagram online says bolt 15. Holds the passenger peg bracket to the exhaust. Can’t figure out how to put up a picture.

On the later bikes that bolt's a "special" with a 12mm instead of the expected 14mm head. 75 is kind of the change over year to the JIS spec bolt heads so the hardware store bolt with a 13mm head may match the original.

Sometimes hardware stores will carry fine and coarse threads. Yamaha used mostly fine in that size range..... 1mm iirc :umm:

No, most likely it is M10x1.25.
Standard metric coarse is M10x1.50, which is hardly ever used by japanese car and motorcycle manufacturers.
M10x1.00 is also very rare on japanese vehicles, but more common on german products.
