I converted my 79SF years ago with a non-load dependent relay, then used it for the 77 I saved from the junk pile. Don't have a reference for what I used.
So I bought this: LDMINDA 12V 3 Pin Electronic LED Flasher Relay Round Heavy Duty Electronic Turn Signal Light Blinker Relay Turn Signal Flasher Relay 3 Prong Flasher Relay No Load Fixed Turn Signal Bulbs (Amazon)
Plugged it in, turned on the key, it blew the 20A fuse immediately.
I did research on this here, but not really sure it's the info I need since all I've found is for the self-canceling 77-up.

BTW, the standard type of relay just turns the LED's ON, not blink.
4 LED's per side: front, rear, integrated taillight & mini-instrument panel mounted to the 1/4 fairing

On my XJ650, I had to change one of the 3 wires from +12V to GND.
Cut the wire from the harness, then ran a ground wire to the flasher.
I think I blew the fuse at one point and can't recall if it was before I did the above or when I accidentally plugged back in the auto cancellation device.

Just wondering how voltage/current will get to the LED's if 12v is cut off from the relay ? ? ?
I mean, GND on the black wire, intermittent 12v from relay to the TS switch which feeds the LED's, then the 12v.
There will be no power to the switch through the relay
One of the wires into the relay turns 12V when the turn signals are turned on.
2 wire flasher, the current flows across the relay, and the current warms up a part of the blinker that then disengages (opens up). when it opens up, it cools then closes again, this cycling causes the flashing. If you don't use the designed incandescent bulb, the flashing will not occur and thus why LED blinkers don't work. (without hooking up resistors). 3 wire systems have the ground, so you have 12V, Ground then output. The constant 12V and ground powers the relay to flash the output signal on and off. Disconnecting the 12V from the blinker switch, then turns everything off.

OK, I'm not thick or anything - lol
I see the info on the relay you used. I just need to reconfigure my connector.
