Many thanks for helping me sort out the voltage regulator problem a month or so ago. Now there is another problem I would like to sort out:

I have bought a new starter clutch kit for this bike....I have adjusted and re-tensioned the spring clip and compression spring....tried using components from a different motor...tried holding my mouth the right way, etc. Nothing works. The damn thing still goes "whzzzz....clack...whzzz....clack, clack." Thankfully the engineers decided to keep the Kickstarter or I would have to bump start it.

I have read many threads and forums about this specific problem...I'm not the only one. In fact, it appears that many have simply given up and rely on the kicker exclusively. I don't want to do that...I'd REALLY like to sort this problem out once and for all. There are NO ghosts in this machine, some component is failing. I'd like to find it and fix it.

So.....does anyone have any sort of tried and true method for fixing the starter clutch? Anybody tried re-engineering it in some way?
