Look in the Tech menue. There's lots of pointers and diagrams on minimal electrical, such as this one below.

Just "get it to run" is pretty simple for points ignition. an easily accessable switch on the hot wire a VERY good idea, too easy to leave a coil hot and cook it while messing around..

I would add a ground wire from the condensers to that sketch if I understand it correctly. (Condesner mount might give a decent ground but a ground wire would probably be better anyway).

Ok guys I've followed the instructions to the t I have my key lighting up my brake.light and headlight when turned on. My starter relay is no good so I jumped it w a toggle switch and that lights up my neutral light indicator. My other safety relay thing is bypassed and that then allowed me.to.get my non working starter relay to click .. ok so now I'm all hooked up kill switch bypassed and I get no power from my coils which yes I did test and yes they are ok. I must have missed something up in the comments so I will re.read all messages and study all diagrams . Side note my headlight is not installed and I'm having a hell of a battle up there ! What the hell though really with the wiring ?? Why???? Lol thanks guys

The stock '77 should have a headlight switch on the right hand control. Nice feature as it helps send all the juice the battery is holding to the electric foot before drawing some off for the headlight - if that's what you're using for start up.
Re: the bucket wiring.
Don't be intimidated.
No two connectors are the same (from what I've seen in '77 and newer models), aside from the bullet connectors, and their issue is in making sure the turn signals dark brown and dark green aren't mistaken for black grounds. The hard part is keeping from cutting your hands on the sharp bucket edges as you're pulling connectors apart.
How about adding some overall pics of this project? We love pics.
