For Sale - 77D fair price?

Hello all! It's been a long time. I was really active during the restoration of this beauty back in 18 and 19. I bought an 07 Suzuki boulevard that has become my main bike, and then a 65 Thunderbird last year. I'm considering going back to school and barely have time to wrench, plus I barely ride the XS anymore and am considering putting it up for sale. It has lots of work done to it, but I'm not sure what a fair price is to ask. It's a 77D, aftermarket seat, relaced both wheels, new bearings, rebuilt forks, rebuilt brakes front and rear, new rear shocks, pamco ignition, new clutch plates, springs, retainers, Heiden tuning oil cooler, newer tires, the list goes on. What are these things going for these days?

OK you asked. ;^0 Good looking bike, you did well.

It needs 3-4 hours with polish and touch up. With that done, in spring, running good the right buyer sees it maybe $3500?
Right now, as is you'd be doing good to get 2500. my opinion.

I’m in the same camp. You’ll do better if there’s a local market for it. Where I am, you’d probably get a lot less. There aren’t a lot of motorcycles or motorcyclists here. Of what there are, most are Harley-Davidson. If you have local interest in vintage bikes, I think you’re golden.

Great bike, I always liked it. You know price is just so subjective depending on what part of the country you live in.
In the Eastern US, there are just so many of these old machines still around that they don’t bring much. But out here where I live ( Arizona ) if you want a specific model of old bike, you may not see one on the market for a year and the price is always high. When I was searching for my first 650 I could not find one anywhere in Arizona for months. I started searching all the nearby states and wound up buying one from a dealer in Colorado. I paid too much for a bike that looked nice , and I was promised a well sorted machine ( spoiler alert……it wasn’t ). California brings premium prices for old bikes too. So getting back to your original question……how much is your bike worth? Your bike is very clean and well done, and I would think you’ve kept it in good running order. If I were you, I would post an ad here first. Write a good ad, take some good quality photos and get free exposure to our worldwide members. Here is the one I posted for my ‘77.

I've been through that disease. I once owned four 1966 Thunderbirds at the same time. Along with them, a 1987 Turbo Coupe with a manual transmission. That's a luxury car and will eat into your wallet like a school of piranha. Chrome plating alone will cost more than a garage full of old Yammies. I wish you luck. Those cars deserve preservation.

I think your bike is exceptional and should bring good money if you do a proper job of selling it. There's a strong argument that the XS650D is the best of the standards as far as having a vintage bike to ride regularly goes.

Ditto on the BAT; I've not done a transaction there, but I do follow it - don't know the terms - a lot of bikes (foreign & domestic) bring what appears to be big money
