Yeah it looks like I may have hooked my coils up incorrectly, i hooked everything up and she wouldn't start, surprise the batteries half dead
but she didn’t “Want” to start so now the battery is charging. Ill have to double check that wiring tomorrow since its getting realllllllll windy here in colorado.

So heres the current wiring from the dyna to the coils. I have the orange and grey from the dyna leading to there respective side then the blue wire connecting the two together.
In the diagram I notice the red wire running from the coils to the fuse box. I have the dyna hooked directly to the fuse box, is this the problem here?

If the Dyna is hooked to the fuse box PRIOR to the ignition switch, the Dyna box will be powered all the time i.e. without the ig switch being "on".

Ahhh makes sense, I re-wired the set up to the coils then back to fuse box instead, as well as the wiring between the coils themselves. I got backfire when I turned the ignition and realized in my setup I locked the carbs open soooo I do believe i flooded the engine. Now I’m just waiting to try again.

after a lottle tinkering with the carbs she fired right up, she idles high on both chokes, and bogs on one then of course dies with both off. BUT!! Success none the less

alright 2 days on and she's still a bugger to kickstart, takes anywhere between 10-20 kicks to start. Additionally on occasion when I turn the key she backfires???
Have you put a timing light on it yet?
For a bike (any bike) that's a bugger to kick, setting idle timing 3-4° retarded usually helps a fair bit.
But mostly it's a matter of getting ignition sorted first, then start dialing in the carbs.

no the timing light is this paychecks purchase, The issue being ill need to start her before I could use it. Ill pop the top cover this afternoon after work and play with the ignition unit and see if that helps some. I'm sure finding the right kick stroke will help me too
