I am reinstalling the wiring harness on my '83 XS650 Heritage Special following a rebuild, and I'm trying to figure out where a few things attach.

I am specifically trying to figure out where the flasher relay and turn signal cancelling unit attach.

I'm also unsure about these two relays shown in the photo. I believe they are 31 and 33 in the parts diagram.

Also, I noticed that my front left turn signal has had the ground/black wire cut back and taped in the stem of the light (see photo). Does this need to be replaced? I'm not sure how it's grounded otherwise.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The bulb socket in that turn signal isn't original. The originals only have one wire coming out of them, and even though it's black, it is the power wire. The bulb grounds to the socket and that, in turn, grounds to the housing once it's screwed to it. There is then a separate ground wire that goes on the mount under the nut. That two wire socket you have is probably for a dual filament bulb (running light and turn signal) and it looks like one filament's power lead has been clipped.
