Was trying to decide where to post this but thought what the heck post it before I fall asleep again.

Wife and I decided to ride to an old time burger strand west of hear on June 26th and I got home I believe it was July 2 or 3rd! She was on her CanAm Spyder and "guess" I decided to ride her first street "bike" a GTV 300 Vespa to give it some exercise.

The reason I said "guess" is I don't recall even leaving the house that morning. First thing I do vaguely recall was maybe June 27th or was it June 28th? I have been told that part way to the restaurant about 30 miles from home while we we coming to a stop behind a dozen or maybe more cars and such moma behind me in a Mazda minnie van was spending her time yelling at her bratts in the back seat. Some what good news is Me and the Vespa were between the Mazda and the CanAm. Bad news is a Vespa is not a Cat Dozer! But at least it was able to slow down the Mazda so Vespa took 90% of the force and CanAm took the last 10%. I guess I did absorb a few percentage my self and and was not cociouse (sorry brain won't spell too good today!) enough to enjoy the helicopter ride to University of Rochester Hospital! I think they said I had a little brain bleed, at least the last few days headaches are getting lee hurt full. They sent me on I believe it was on July 2nd. I'm a little embarrassed by the size of my only external wound! The "o" in wound would easily cover it!

The Vespa and GTV both show much worse damage!
I'll try attaching four or five picture but won't guaranty I'll be able to do that as I've spent three days trying to post this already!

Sorry to hear of this accident. Glad you’re on the mend!

People just don’t pay attention while driving. The other night I was riding home and stopped at a red light. I was solo and stopped in the middle of the lane (one way traffic each way). I looked in my right mirror and this lady decides there’s enough room for both of us and pulls up right beside me! I can’t believe this and flipped up my face shield and asked her what the hell she thought she was doing. She looked at me with a dumb look on her face and shrugged her shoulders. I told (yelled) at her to stay behind me and she mouthed “ok”. She kept her distance after that.

Each time I ride I see at least one idiot. This morning I was coming back from a ride and breakfast with friends. I was on the main road, signalling to turn left onto the secondary road. There was a stop sign on that road and a line up of half a dozen convertible cars, no doubt out for a cruise. The idiot at the stop sign sees me and figures since I’m on a bike he would pull out anyway and bully his way out in front of me. I managed to get around him safely and pulled up beside him (convertible) and reminded him he was a f’n idiot - I don’t think the message registered. 🤬

We all need to be careful out there, but I guess in Ken’s case there was no defence for being rear ended.

Decided to stop thanking people one at a time just hope that is good with you if I start doing it once a day!

Thanks for all the comments very appreciated!

Does look like the time to go shopping for new coat is close, EMT's or who ever were there mad a mess out of Jacket, shirt, and new jeans.

Helmet only has a small crack in the back so a little duct tap and nail polish and it should be fine, just kidding! Kind of sucks as the faceshield did not get even a small scratch, might have to do with getting hit from rear while almost stopped!

Better the helmet cracked than your head!
Glad you're mending.
I was rear-ended over thirty years ago by a kid in an '80's Mustang who tried to drive right through me.
If he'd been in a truck or van I'd probably be dead or in a wheel chair.
I was lucky, got away with a cracked coccyx, some scrapes, and a totaled bike.

Hey. Glad you made it. I always ride with my head on a swivel but lately I've gotten downright jumpy. Westport, Midtown K.C. I Feel like they are out to get me. Nearly creamed by a carload of kids and I'm sure he never saw me. Bullys bogarting in traffic. Comuted for six years and thought I was battle hardened. Am I getting soft/old or do drivers theese days just SUCK. Keep us posted. Feel better.

Well no way am I ready to ride yet, still getting very tire trying to do much of anything. Also get very upset with myself when I can't do even simple things online or on the computer or cell phone. Trying to hint to wife to at least check in with the CanAm shop Tuesday. I know they were closed all last week and said they have at least a week of other peoples work to deal with first, but I don't care about those people! Just kind of kidding there! Might give the salesman a quick call in the after noon just to say HI!

Not doing yourself any good getting frustrated. This happened 12 days ago not just a concussion, you had a brain bleed, doesn't get much worse than that. Fact is you may not ever get 100% recovered. Not trying to scare you, fact. You need to do everything possable to reduce any stress, stay away from bright light and just chill.

My son in laws brother hit his head on a gutter in a scateboard accident when he was in his late teens. Never fully recovered and although he finished a carpenters aprentaship he can't work and struggles with decisions involving everyday work and expectations.

Relax, but make sure you are legally represented and documented for every and any symptom, progress and how this is impacting on your quality of life.

There is no sugar coating a brain bleed
