I actually had that thought and considered using some wire pulling lube I have, maybe even some Vaseline…lol(jk)Maybe you should try some real tire lube? .....

For years I used soapy water too simply because all the tire lubes I saw were quite expensive. Then I found this stuff, a few years ago it only cost me about $15 for a whole gallon. I didn't mind buying that much because as you can see in the link, it can be used for more than just changing tires. I even sprung for the applicator brush, lol .....

I didn’t notice how much of a notch it would take but if it’s just a tiny slot then that’s the ticket.Why not just slot your shrouds? .....
