After Supper Brat.

Since Fri. night TV stinks out loud I decided to go out to the shop and bend up some left over tubing for a brat kit. I had some spare frames so I cut one and tacked up the tubes and welded the plugs in the bends and frame. 4 1/2 hrs later this is what I came up with. 1 hr of which was coping the tubes to fit the main center tube (major pain in the ass). I still have to make the upper shock mounts and cut off the pass foot peg brackets and some unwanted tabs. This will take center stage in the junk shed as I have no interest in finishing this. Today a friend brought over another front to rear wheel conversion kit. I have to buy the bolts for it and it will be for sale.

I finished this project up today. After all the tools and stuff were put away I realized I forgot to make a cross bar to go between the bends to mount a seat. Oh well.

Likely you don’t want to kill 30 minutes watching this video, but the seat they made for it works on your frame. No crosspiece needed or desired.

Thanks for the video. The 650 Royal Enfield looks like it would be a good platform to build from. I decided I couldn`t live with myself not making a cross piece so I went back to the shop and made one. Now I won`t feel so bad when I throw it in the trash where it belongs.

I had a brat kit frame bike here one time but a guy showed up with cash and and wouldn't take no for an answer.
I greatly prefer the tubes with the bend like yours compared to the ones that are joined at an acute angle at the shock mount.
