Aftermarket Rear Sets

yes, this sort of lower and backwards is that I am thinking about. How do you like it? how long can you ride until you are uncomfortable?
Let me be clear. Please. Our member here has quality bits but they left me not comfortable. I knew when I ordered it I would do modifications. I am overweight and less flexible than I should be. I took the "kit" (nicely done) and modified mounting by having new "mounting plates" using the original peg mounting studs to locate the pegs. Our member supplies a quality kit. I modified it to fit me. My 5' 9" 210lb 67 year old frame feels like I am on a motocrosser with the higher wider bars I fitted. The supplied kit features mounts nicely machined from 0.,375 alloy. A local guy cut me new bits s for $15 per pair. The second pair is in the picture and I like that result. Any and everything custom turns out to be personal preference. The stance shown is an all day ride comfortable for backroads for me. I rarely ride interstates (70 mph) but mostly 40-60mph rural roads. YRMV

i see it. was thinking the same wrt the custom bracket

It makes sense to make that plate with a selection of possible positions for the pegs
I have 1 set of plates that were close but wrong for me. This is entirely "personal fit". My bike fits me like my enduros fit me when I was 20 years old. That sounds as goofy as it is. I will NOT try to ride like I did back then.

But those are maybe not compatible with a kickstarter?
says need to heat and bend the kickstarter lever

picked up this set on Ebay. Will be fabbin a mid-rise plate when I get them. Kevin, did you need to change the legth of the linkages on yours with your custom plate?

My answer is complicated. I moved the pegs ~5" forward and 1' DOWN. This location is very near the brake pedal shaft leaving no room for a proper linkage. Though someone could come up with clever solution. Instead, I cut 4'-5" out of the brake pedal arm. I then added ~3" to the brake actuator arm at the backing plate to restore lost leverage. On the shifter side I simply used the brake link rod. I will post pics soon to this post. The execution is Beta but works pretty well.

That looks very nice. Report back to us please. How much do you like the new peg placement? My pegs in a similar position ( see post earlier for pics) transform the bike (in my estimation) to very light and lively. However I have a tracker with fiberglass seat pan, no rear fender a lighter weight exhaust and spare instrumentation which lessens the steering mass.
