I need to buy air filters for my XS2. I usually like to keep things as original as possible, but that's just me. I have noticed, from looking at pictures, that many of you use the pod type filters. Since I need to buy a couple, I'm just curious as to the pros and cons of both types. THANKS

You will get the best result with stock filters unless you also plan to re-jet. Pods give a greater air flow and needs to be compensated for. Don’t use cones as the shape can interfere with the air flow. Do you just need the filters or are your Airboxes missing?

My air boxes are still in tact, and are in good condition. I'll get original filters. Thank you

FYI, there are at least 2 different air filter sizes. I know cause I had the original air boxes and tried to get used ones and replace the filter sponges. I got the wrong ones (ones I got off ebay were bigger) for my '78 and then ripped the airbox out to put the Uni filters on. As mentioned above, I had to change the pilot and main jets and adjust the needle to get bike to run well (which it did once making the change).
