hi guys has anyone on here fitted an all balls swinging arm kit just tryed one and all bits were a sloppy with more movement than the knackered one i took out
I've seen some arguments either way. I like the bronze bushing option better because there's no moving parts. Throw in an upgraded pivot shaft w/ greasable ends and you can easily keep those bushings greased properly.
Had same trouble with my kit.
Thrust seals too big,did not seal to swinging arm tube.
Bushing tube hole for pivot shaft sloppy
a total waste of money, worse than the ones i took out.
Now using new phospher bronze bushes with new tube.
I have used the kit, not All Balls but similar on my Z1900's. The first kit was fine but the second kit there was so much slop that the bike felt very twitchy around corners. Could see movement on the swingarm when pulling side to side. I'v since changed that kit out and went back to bronze bushings on all my bikes. Way better fit with no play. Just have to maintain them properly which you would need to do with the bearing setup also.
They also expand your vocabulary when you pick the needles up off the floor and clean them for the 22nd time. Pack them with grease at the first opportunity!
