gardening, photography and motorcycles. ( pic from my garden)

Brain surgery is something I'd be interested in, I already have the tools: Cordless drill, hammer, chisel and box cutter. Just having trouble locating someone to practice on. I have this picture, so I know what everything is called and where to put it after re-building, I've even swept the workshop floor to keep the dirt to a minimum.

Some really nice shots there Doug; what kit do you use?

Those were taken on a Panasonic DMC-FZ5. Was, (as it stop'd working when it got wet), 6mp
F/2.8
1/30 sec
ISO-150

Best Digital camera i have ever had. when i bought it they were still a no frills camera. Fixed lens.

The sunrise shots i would have used at least 2 pics to get the finished product

I have always loved photography, but looking at a magazine rivals the ham radio systems in a knowledge base well beyond my acumen. That stuff is high level complexity. I sure would if I could!

For a basic budget camera of its day this is full zoom + digital zoom of the beach and Jetty on the island, from the shore where i was in the previous pics. Can almost see the bikini girls on the beach. Can make out the coulors of the clothes people are wearing though

Don't need to know anything these days. A quality phone camera can get nice pics. Most digital cameras there are choices where you can do different manual applications but taking basic auto shots and playing around with the focus point will get some great pics.
With all the add on like "auto cloud loading", GPS and a lot of other features the cost of those actually reduce the effectiveness of the camera pic quality. Gotta spend up more to compensate, and a bigger Mp camera does not equate to better pics.

Having it with you and taking a pic of anything, you never know what you have captured.

Yes, but that is like riding a motorcycle from the factory and never touching the works. I remember the old cameras with the F-stops and focus adjustment and all types of intricate details for pictures, which remained an unquenched desire to learn. I agree it is easy to take nice pictures in the digital age, and easier to understand the set-up, but the comprehensive articles one can find necessitates a degree of logic comparable to the ham radio specialists. Therefore XS 650 Hobby it is! Got to learn something at some point.

Its a good relation to the XS650. Learning and fixing points and basic and extensive engine work.

Loved it when i could buy different ASA films and then push them taking pics. Those days you could tell the developers and they would develop the film to the ASA taken on the camera and not the Film. A 100 film using 400 on the camera..............When the 1 hour developing machines took over and became the only option the ability to play in that area was lost as they would work from a standard formula and developed what he film was rated at.

Same to day with cameras, as things have changed we have lost some of the ability to have and play with different choices. Also opens up other possibilities or a different take on an old style.

This pic i joined 2 pics together. Had no idea i had set it up so it would be able to do it. Same bike slightly different angle but when i put them together the skyline and shore line lined up perfectly. Some slight Photoshop where the sea was breaking on the shore and had to add to the shadow on one of the bikes. Island skyline to the island shore line was perfect to join up as if it was taken with a wide angle lens......

First glance its 2 bikes that look the same at 2 different angles

Can't call this a hobby but didn't know where else to post it. Ages ago, Mrs bought herself a set of red-painted metal watering can and bucket. But t'other day, she thought, since she never used the bucket, I might like it?

Didn't need to ask twice. A lovely red metal bucket? As we all know, you can never have too many buckets. And then this happened:

Quick bit of masking, shake a can of white primer. It's not perfect, in fact shows why I would never trust meself to do a rattle-can paint job on a bike.

But, hey.
