I just can't believe that you didn't re-install that "stylish" seat and bars that came on it. Pity.Had her maiden voyage this afternoon, runs great. Going up for sale soon, I am going to install a set of new discs before posting. It is not slipping but there is a not a lot left by the feel of it. Overall I am pleased with the final outcome.......
It is now in our family room, the Wife and I are using it as a couch.......I just can't believe that you didn't re-install that "stylish" seat and bars that came on it. Pity.
That is how I would recommend doing it. If the clear comes out a little grainy, due to "dry spraying" the first coat of clear, well that's why they make sandpaper and more clear. Good luck.Old Dog, New Tricks. I am going to try a different method this time around when it comes to applying the decals. In the past I have always flatten the paint with wet sanding with 2000 or 2500 grit paper, laid the decals, and then cleared after they were completely dry. Since this is a tri-coat paint I am laying two good coats of clear first, letting it completely cure, then wet sand and apply the decals and when they are completely dry re-clear first with a real dry coat on the graphics to set them, then two or three good wet coats of clear. As I understand it, from my paint guru, "You Tube", it is not a good idea to wet sand tri coat paints and this method also gives better decal lines on the final job. If the finished product comes out decent I will post some additional shots, if not someone please call and talk me down off of the ledge........
I like that seat better, I'm a fan of UJM style bikesYou can sometimes still find a deal on the old innerweb. I was browsing on E bay and found what looked to be a brand new CB750k seat priced right at 169 bucks to include shipping. It was on the site of a vendor who specializes in used vintage Honda parts I have bought from many times in the past. He stated he had picked the seat up in a batch of parts he had recently purchased was fairly sure it was a K seat. He has an excellent return policy so I figured it was worth the gamble. It arrived today and I bolted on the hinges and latch from the ugly two up "Big Foot" seat and bingo, fit perfectly with no adjustment what so ever. Just proves the old blind squirrel nut thing is true, but I bet he has the ugliest Wife in the forest.....
