I figured a nice winter project would be to strip, polish, and put some new spokes in the old rims.
Front wheel was a piece a of cake, zero issues, rear wheel, another story.
I must of laced and unlaced the wheel at least a handful of times..
I am using the same technique I used on the front, but I am obviously missing something.
Any thoughts or tips would be appreciated.
TIA

If you take your time it can be done.

There are a bunch of good threads on here showing spoke patterns, where to start etc.

I also found that the front laced up no problem but had issues with the rear.

Check the nipple length of the new vs old.

I barely got my rear MikesXS rim to lace and must have disassembled reassembled 20+ times.

It turns out the nipples supplied with the cad spoke kit were too short. I only found out when I upgraded to stainless spokes.

Also when Lacing the rear it is helpful to build a Taverner Jig (see below for bsa wheels)

They are not hard to build but really help to dial in the required offset.

Once the wheel is loosly laced, there is a pattern to tighten (if I recall it’s something like every other 4th spoke).

Pictures? What size is the rim?
You know there are inner and outer spokes and have them sorted?
the bend of the end is the difference.
Some random rear wheel lacing pics.

Some may not like this but when I do one before disassembly I take a scribe and scribe a mark along the side of a couple spokes on either side of the hub that I'll be able to see when I reassemble it as a reference.
Then as gggGary showed in his photos, install the inner spokes first and get them all inserted into the rim and nipples on loosely before installing the outer spokes
