Didn't go to the famous Port Dover Friday the 13th yesterday. They figure over 200,000 people, outlaw bikers, lots of police descended on that sleepy little Lake Erie shores town. Normal population 6161. Too big a crowd for me.

So instead I spent some of today at BACONFEST, billed as “Everything Bacon and Bikes” in Lucan, ON, a little town about a half hour north of me.

They expect over 25,000 will attend. I think they blew through that estimate before I left to beat it home before the rain.
Can ya guess what I had for lunch....lol. With maple smoked bacon almonds for dessert!
Event creator is the local Harley dealer, Hogtown Cycle.
Saw a few Harley's
One little old XS650 in the middle of the photo sticking her nose out in one of the parking lots.
Heard, “man I used to ride one of them” more than once.
A couple of pics forBoob….Er.......Bob.
This where you can get your bike polished. Your BIKE!
Best t-shirt award goes to a young girl rider who's shirt said, Mom I'm Fine. Was gonna get a picture but……...
Here's a few of the different bikes I saw.
I thought this was nicely done. Paint by owner builder who is not a professional painter just likes messing around with stuff.
I think this might scoot a bit with that little ol' bottle on the back.
Now how bout a beast of a Busa.......Not my thing but I can sure appreciate the work that went into this build.
And this was a nice old rig.....
Now for the entertainment portion of the program.
Couple of Canadian boys street stunt riders. Man these guys have some chops.
You know, I think the most fun I had was enjoying these local high school kids bands. Ya I know, if you wanna be critical, lots to criticize, but hey, here's some kids doing what they love, putting it all out there, and having fun with it. No vocal processors, no mixing boards. Good on them I say. Lots of old farts like me cheering them on.
Young lads rocking out some good old tunes. Lots of folks dancing in the crowd. Sure brought back memories of my old garage band days.
There is some amazing entertainment booked for tonight, but too long a day for this old man. This was a lot of fun, chatted it up with some great folk. Will definitely be an annual event for me.
