Installing the xs performance big bore kit , getting to the rings I don’t see any step or bevel on any of the rings? I don’t think I’ve ever seen rings that didn’t have a bevel or step in them???

Last couple of sets I used had neither. Only difference was the thickness of the 1st/2nd ring.
While most rings have some sort of bevel on one side, it's not uncommon to not have 'em either. A good rule of thumb is any markings face up. Be it a number, letter, symbol.. or even a simple dot stamped in it.... the marking always face up unless otherwise noted in the manual/instructions.
