BIKE LIFT

If you have a dedicated bike work space, for many many reasons a work table right under the bike is WAY better.
A place to set tools and removed bolts, parts.
A flat place to set drain pans and catch pans for oil, cleaning solvent, dirt, debris.
The table holds heavy wheels with a couple wedges or an under engine screw jack that JUST unloads the wheel weight, while inserting removing axle brake plate etc.
You don't have that jack post in the way of (where I guarantee) every task you do. ;^)
As mentioned stability.
Getting any jack under a heavy bike while holding the bike upright getting everything lined up and operating the lift is NOT trivial.

If I used a table or lift I would lose my great abs and get a spare tire. These old knees are working just fine too. That's just another benefit from working on old bikes. Got me up and out of my death bed 20 years ago. Nothing like riding to build back upper body strength too.

As Jim says, make sure you look into any company you order from Fakebook is full of companies that come on and advertise something then don't deliver and dissapear. Fake book does little to no work vetting its advertisers.

There was several shell companies advertising these bike roller dollys that were $60 and could grab the front and back wheels and move them around. Researched them on TrustPilot and they had many complaints about scamming them and not responding.

Just hand over 59 bucks to the golden spoon shop online for a 500 buck hoist :laugh2: wooden spoon sounds more like it
It might be a great lift pictured but not the one that would be delivered, if at all.

I use a standard bench type hydraulic bike lift but my brother uses a lift similar to Max Midnight and I've had the front end off his Softail and shaken the bike around and it's fine. Just identify the centre of balance point and think about what you're pulling off and the effect it may have. You can always lash it to the jig.

I think I'll just keep on using my old homemade work table, it's nice to have a flat work surface for tools and parts, along with unfettered access from either side.

I've looked at your lift from both sides now
From win and lose and still somehow
How it lifts I can't recall
I really don't know how it lifts, at all.

Care to share? ;^)
