Hello all, last weekend I was at Brands Hatch hand there was lots of interesting kit about, not least this championship-winning 750 outfit. There was also a 998 one but I couldn't find it in the paddock, so no pics of that I'm afraid.
This one has a Steve Mann engine with 8-plate clutch among other goodies. It was bought as a backup motor but has been used for the last three years! And it seems faster than the 998 ..... The 84 year old chap holding the hat is the owner and the pilot and chair man are family members. And yes, it's the 81 outfit on the programme cover.

Camped near us was a fairly old guy with the most loaded up BSA B25 we had ever seen. On Sunday morning he had struck camp and gone by the time we were up and about but he'd only gone as far as the bottom of Paddock Hill where he'd set up. Amazingly dedicated bloke and bear in mind that all stuff he's sat on and surrounding him will also be loaded onto that Starfire! Respect.

Finally, one of the biggest surprises of the weekend was the 1930's Norton International, rigid rear and girder forks, that smoked most Manx Nortons and Matchless G50s. He got a P8 and a P6 in two 30-bike fields. Unbelievable. Avon Roadrider rear and Speedmaster front!
Doncha just love classic racing? Cheers -
