Should I use a brass punch or grind down a chisel when "walking off" the nut on the clutch hub?

Use an impact wrench with the appropriate socket.

Speaking of sockets...what size nut did yours have on it? This sob had a 1 1/8"...I'd expect a 30mm or 27 even, something common
