Cam chain adjuster interchange

hi all .i have out smarted myself here goes i can confirm that you cant run a 256 cam adjuster with 447 chain . it will rattle when you turn the motor over by hand back and forth.. now time to pull it to bits and fix it.. i definatly wouldnt start an engine like this cause it will shit itself for sure..

The 256 adjuster is the one with the sprocket, right?
The chain pitch for a 256 is different than for a 447.
So whatever you try to fix, the chain simply doesn't match the sprocket.

actually i didnt muck up . i have 3 engines im dooing i lost track of where i was up to.. im running the correct adjusters with the correct chain.. i will have to investigate what the noise is its intermitent. ile find it..cheers.
