Canal boat holiday

One last question
Was the food cooked on the boat or did you just dine out wherever you were
Both. I usually made breakfast, sometimes we had a picnic lunch, sometimes went to a café. Some evenings I rustled up dinner, other times we went to a pub or restaurant.

Canal boat cruising is very laid back and relaxed. You can head for a canal-side pub, tie up nearby for the night and have a meal and a drink. Or just stop any random place, explore, see what there is nearby and maybe end up self-catering.

There's a great British TV show called "canal boat diaries".
I'm not sure if it's available in the US. Well worth watching.
The first series (I think) actually shows Skipton.
With Robbie Cummins - I've come across it and watched a few episodes. He's been living full-time on a canal boat for a few years now?

That's the one. I really enjoyed the first few series.
We have friends who live full time on boats. I don't think there's much room for projects, like motorbikes.
Have you visited the Falkirk wheel? A really amazing bit of canal engineering.
