I have BS34's on my 74 TX (I believe).
34mm spigot size, 3 transition ports, plastic floats. Jetting agrees as well: pilot 42.5 & main 132.5.
It appears from the pic that the previous owner miss adjusted the float height. Note the adj. tang bent, and usually the float is parallel to the gasket. I'm going to try 22mm. Would you guys agree?

Question 2: Uni pods & 2 shorty mufflers (straight thru 9" baffle) and stock headpipes. Would anyone care to offer jetting suggestions for this combo?
Question 3: Anyone have any jets to sell?
(a pair of Mike's Canadian nozzles maybe)?
I don't know that it's lean, nor do I have a good baseline ride experience. Fueling & Ignition were fubar'ed, so I was lucky it just started and ran. Thanks in advance.

Yes, 22mm is the spec for the plastic floats. They came along in 1981 but unfortunately, the manuals weren't updated for a couple years. They still showed the old brass float spec of 27.3mm. But, when setting them, turn the carbs upside down and let the float tang rest on the needle pin. The weight of the float will depress the pin slightly but that's OK, the spec takes that into account.

For jetting, I'd suggest two up on the mains (132.5 stock to a 137.5), one up on the pilots (42.5 stock to a 45), and one down on the air jet (135 stock to a 132.5). A good place to buy genuine Mikuni jets is Niche Cycle.

Good info. I'm in the process of cleaning & reassembly. A fine wire probed into all the transition ports & jet air bleeds. I think it might start!
I had to run it on choke until really warm before it would take any throttle w/o lean back fire. So up on the pilot sounds right.
Thanks again.
