Back in the day, whenever I had engine parts for a rebuild I would take them to my rebuilder and the first thing he would do is hot tank dip them to clean them. I understand that Ma EPA has put the kabosh on that practice.
I have 2 E7 Mack truck cast iron oil filter mounts that had to get from a used parts supplier in Kentucky as they are a long discontinued item. I need them cleaned and i've had them run through the hot water and soap degreaser cleaner here at work and they still look as you can see. The only other method they have here to clean parts is steel shot blasting which is way to rough.
Can anyone recommend an "Industrial Strength" cleaner or do some shops still do the old hot tank method?
