Cb750k0 - any interest?

Yes Sir that is cred in my book ..
Perhaps not having the Credit card smashing it on the counter ..
But instead making it happen oneself This did not take long time either with some clever solutions.
It would still be good with a far lesser result.
There are others here on the forum making stellar work This is up there.

I’m surprised myself how fast it all came together. I suppose it’s easier to keep it moving when your not waiting on someone to do some of the work for you and you have all the pieces there.

Yep - most of the time, I enjoy the work itself. It is a real pain to wait on others too. I've had a CB750F2 sitting, under cover, outback for nearly a year and a stack of parts boxes maybe 3' cubed that I've accumulated over nearly that period of time - R1 forks, Sun rims, Delkevic, etc.. I'm getting itchy to start on it. Just wait'in on me to get done with riding season (and hopefully new garage addn.).

Then, I just placed a wanted ad for an XS2:shootme:

Ask, be patient and get lucky haha.

Perusing the EBay and bam! A suggestion for 78-82 cb750 carbs, only I could clearly see they were I fact not, they were 1-4 split pull carbs for the sandcast/K0 - and a bargain at twice the price. - took about 3 weeks for delivery. The last piece to put my bike back to being all correct. Typically they would set you back close to a grand. I wasn’t gonna shell that out.

Unfortunately it would appear that Ace Ventura himself delivered my package from Germany and my rack bracket broke in half.
Bummer, but it’s all prepped to get welded back together tomorrow.

The carbs themselves are in great shape, spotless inside and complete which I was a bit nervous about because the listing didn’t show the internals.

I’m not really lookin forward to mounting and synching these but it’ll be worth it.

Well how awesome is that?! Good score 😃 Good luck with the rebuilding and syncing , it ought to be……interesting. 😉

Bracket is back together, carbs are together, bench synched and ready to swap out with my current ones.

Cleaned up the welds as much as possible to get the original shaped pockets but left em a little beefy to keep it from ever cracking again.

Defiantly kinda feels like a step backwards over the push/pull but for originality’s sake I’m happy.

Hopefully I’ll get to the fun part this weekend haha.

I give it a 70 - 85 % chance that the slight knocking we have heard ... Is gone after this.
I synced with plastic tube last week with good results
A restriction and there is time to react shutting if it rises
I used motor oil 20 W 50 should not cause damage if get sucked in which did not happen
Managed to set then exactly even spot on
And I feel it would be good to have in your situation .. Getting that out of the equation.
First time I done it but it was a success.

After a lap around the block that little rattle/knock was all gone. I think it was just a little build up in the exhaust and being in a small metal shed that made it sound quite loud.

If they don’t seem to sync up with my gauges, I’ll build a manometer.

Glad to hear that .. Always something at the startup ..Nothing unnormal ...But Speaking for myself I get a bit nerwous hearing something. I sleep better -- so to speak when I dont have it.
Is it the proverbial like a stone in the shoe...

I am 100% with you there. - unsolved/mysterious issues are always nerve racking.

Great job on saving that unobtainium mounting plate! 😃 It won’t be long now!

If I had a mill (or access to one at the moment) I could make one from stock in about 45 mins. Not sure why no one has made some.

I was gonna make one on my drill press if I couldn’t get the pot metal back together to my liking.

Heck, could make one by hand with a drill if it came to that haha.

- the seller sent me a refund for £175 - about $215 - so all in all, I’m into em $125. Not bad.
