The rear mounting end of my chainguards threads are all wobbled out
It isn't a show bike so it doesn't need to be perfect just as long as the threads are good all the way through
Here is the old one that has been reinforced near the front

I don't think I know anyone with a welder
I thought jeeze maybe I can just squeeze a bolt in from the back side and put a nut on the outside... or put a bolt through and put on a nut on the backside
There's not a lot of room between where the bolt head would be and where the sproket mounting bolts are
I'm glad I have a backup bike while I scratch my head with this
82f today and 70's for the next week ?

After I ordered a chain guard I said to myself ( self ) A few years ago I had a wobbled out bolt hole in some other 650s valve cover
And lo and behold I found what I needed to do a helicoil ( thanks for stirrin up the grey matter Jim )
And it worked !! another small victory
But now I'll have another item to put with the other stash
It's no SOIR it's more like a SWABF
