Chain master link

I should have had a crowd here just to watch me struggle with the rim with the sprocket still on it
What a hoot that was
Video that stuff ! You do have a “crowd” watching you lol ! It us :lmao:

Can you put that whole rear axle assembly back together, get the bike rear end up just a tad by putting a 2x6 under the center stand feet(might help) one centerstand foot at a time at this point..? Get behind the bike and wrangle the chain back over the axle before lifting the wheel to slot height.. shove that wheel all the way forward in the axle slots, then put the chain back on the sprocket. Slide it all rearward to position it all together again
🤞

It's back on the bike I just need to figure what I did wrong with the brakes
It's going to have to wait until next week
Waite park's summer festival is on this week and being the president and being retired means somebody always needs something
Come on Saturday !!!

If moving the arm one spline results in a working brake but requires you tighten the adjuster nut so much that a couple inches of brake rod protrudes from it, try moving it another spline. I like to get it to where an inch or less of brake rod protrudes .....

As you can see, I've changed the hex nut adjuster out for a wing nut style. This is a Virago part and only costs a few dollars. Makes brake adjusting easy without a wrench ......

Clocking back the splined shaft 1 tooth and we have brakes again
I guess thinking about it , if you move just one tooth at the shaft by the time it gets to the top of the lever that's quite a bit
Does that qualify as over thinking it ?
Anyway thanks to everyone who chimed in and to those of you who had a good chuckle Your welcome
It's time for a cold one, the festival won't need help again till tomorrow
