Hey Everybody,
After a lot of grueling work and recruiting the help of some of my buddies, I finally got my bike running last week. Initially the clutch wasn’t working with my own adjustments, but my buddy’s dad dropped it down to first while we pushed on the front end and just pinned it to get the clutch plates unstuck. Clutch felt great after that and everything was working great. Well, during this session, we noticed the steering bearings were completely shot so yesterday I spent the day getting those replaced.
When I finally finished and had the bike on the ground i was feeling everything out. I was pulling the clutch lever in and out when the clutch cable got undone in the engine cover. No big deal, I put the end of the cable back in the housing everything seemed good to go. Didn’t adjust the adjustment nut or anything because I already had it in a good spot, but when I reassemble everything and drop the bike in gear I noticed that pulling in the clutch still wouldn’t allow the bike to roll freely. I tried adjusting the tensioner nut/screw and still nothing.
Is this because the clutch isn’t engaging/ the tensioner nut is too loose? Or could it be because the clutch plates are stuck again? Not sure what to do here. I’m thinking I may need to pull the clutch plates out and soak them in oil or just replace them altogether. Not sure really. Any advice would be greatly appreciated !
