Replaced my clutch cable, adjusted it and everything multiple times. Whenever I pull in my clutch lever in first gear, I stay put. Clutch doesn’t engage

Did the little ball in the clutch activator by any chance fell out when you replaced the cable? Do the clutch handle seem to work normal except for the lack of engagement ? What I’m trying to say does it all feel right after adjustment ?
