Wife has older infrared sauna and it's having some issues with over heating. I'm trying to sort it out but need to purchase some replacement connectors and contact pins which I have traced down to being a Henny Penny #EC01-025, 6 pin male plug. Similar to Molex, but different.
There has been obvious over current draw clear back to the 20 amp wall outlet showing scorch traces. I have made a new cord, 12/3, and connector, and replaced the wall outlet with new Leviton 20 amp unit.
The connector in the attached photos is the item and you can see scorch discoloration showing around a couple contacts and the black wire is burned looking where it enters the plug. The particular plug supplies power to the rear infrared heating elements.
I have used my infrared thermometer to measure the heat coming from the wires while in service and a couple of them are reaching 180+° F
I think I'm going to have to ask her to pull it back apart and look at the later connections more closely.
Typically in my experience heat means resistance. Not sure exactly how infrared heating elements work but will be looking at all connections along the route.
I dread having to think about replacing the power supply as it's no longer available , though may be able to substitute another. Discovered a source for infrared sauna parts but the problem there is they'll have different connections and I'll have to figure out wiring.
If I were to guess I figure the issue is with the panels of connections at the panels.
These things are assemble yourself, each wall, floor, roof and seat in pieces, all notched to go together, connect the cables and plug it in to use. This one has been moved and reassembled several times but only began to notice this issue when we moved it from the office where she last practiced to our home.
Searching has lead me to a place called Parts Town but their website is not very friendly, I can find the connector but it doesn't say if it comes with contacts or provide any information to be able to find them on their site.
Thanks

Is there a reason that you could not just replace both sides of the 6-pin connector with something more readily available? Or is the other side of the connection embedded in a power supply chassis or similar?
I may have to pull the power supply back out and replace both with Molex or something I can more readily find, which all things considered may be the best route
