IMG_3369.jpegIMG_3368.jpegA buddy of mine has been after me to do some work on a little bike he had in his barn. It belongs to his wife and she rode it as a little girl so you can guess it’s been sitting for a while. He wants it to be a surprise so I’ll spend some time doing detective work as there is no hurry. I’ll probably paint the wheels and engine after a refresh but the original farm and tins will just get a good cleaning. This should be fun.

I bought one for $50 about 30 years ago. Didn't run and the kick starter had been welded and broken off again. Never did fix the kick starter but it always started easy with just a little push with no help. My two sons learned to shift and brake with it, just before I bought them big road bikes. My granddaughter and I spent lots of days touring the country neighborhood on it. Never had one as a kid but I sure made up for that.

My best advice.............anti-seize that spark plug, and hopefully it comes out without taking extra metal with it the first time. Also, battery not needed.
I appreciate that wisdom tidbit and I was wondering about the battery as tho original is still under the seat. A buddy of mine when I was a kid had this exact bike. It was a riot to ride the empty fields where we had our own private dirt trails.

Nice job! Thanks for the link. I was just about to go exploring for suppliers.
Thanks for the compliment. It was very easy to work on and I did have fun doing it for my boy. When I found the site for parts I was very surprised at how much is available. Big bore kits, high performance cams, CDI ignitions and more. Have fun with it. Being able to lift the motor with one hand is a real bonus.
