Decided to try to learn to weld

I have 2 auto darkening helmets cheap ones I feel they are to dark once darkened so I cannot se where to weld
I have tried adjust on the knobs .But not really a success .I can se the point of the stick and adjust height for arc .But not really where I weld
Is it time to pay up .?

Which one is the Yeswelder ( Amazon ) mentioned above

I don' need no stinkin' helmet!! Or so I thought. Shop class in high school... sand in the eyes is a perfect description. As you say, lesson learned.

Now if I could just remember to protect the other parts...

Here’s the one I bought.
I also have trouble seeing when I’m welding. When possible I’ll weld outside in daylight. A bright light helps illuminate the weld are too. That’s why I added the headlight to my helmet. I also use a magnifying lens inside my helmet.

I got myself a new Hobart P40 and I love it. Not sure if it's available in your location though.

OK Welding helmets
2 cheap ones at home

First one have a knob on the Outside range 9 -13
cant se anything more or less regardless on setting

the second as on the picture below has the same knob on the outside has a range
10 --13 and to 19 But in a small circle smaller numbers 5 -9
After reading the manual there is a flip switch inside that shifts between the ranges
So with that flipped .turning the same knob Setting at lowest it was to much light coming through Now it is possible to get more Visibility adjusting
Hell of a difference .
Tried to read the manual on the first one cannot find any such flip Switch

Cannot say if the one on the Picture is good or bad not used it more than a few minutes
But it is a big Chain Lidl and . It can be good price for performance Don't remember the price been sitting on the shelf a while
