I freed stuck slides with something I had on hand, so it was probably WD40 or penetrating oil, like PB Blaster. I waited on it to work.
BTW, I have sprayed my chain with Fluid Film and it sticks well. Fluid Film is also great on the bottom of the mower deck. It keeps the grass from sticking. I never thought to try it as penetrating oil.

I've used WD-40 on stuck slides in the past. sprayed both exposed sides. let it soak a bit. Maybe use a wooden stick to move a stubborn slide. Or more WD-40 and time.
