Different Exhaust Header Temps

Hey all,

I was worried I was running hot so I have been using an infrared thermometer after I ride. I am getting a 100 degree difference on my header pipes, right one around 465 degrees, the left one 330 degrees.

Strangely, the temps behind the spark plugs are consistent on both cylinders around 270 degrees.

Any insight on what would cause the temp difference in the headers? Also does anyone have their temperatures I could compare mine too?

Bike info: 1981 XS650 with Air pod filters, stock exhaust, stock carbs.
