Don't know about now but was working at a Nuke plant in Sweden for 3 months back in '98, and one of my observations was that the town streets and roads were the cleanest over all I had ever seen.

Realism, not negativity. The US (and the UK, for that matter) has a large population of people who just don't give a shit about anything but their own impulses. Worse, they expect the rest of us (usually though "the government") to fix it when their lack of giving a shit negatively affects them. They don't even care about their own homes, streets, or neighborhoods.
And if you could fix that (and I am not sure you can), it will take generations.
I contend that most people don’t care about what they don’t own. Many don’t care about what they do own. Most people who don’t own anything don’t give a shit about anything. That’s why folks don’t want rental houses in their neighborhoods. That’s why private property is so often kept far better than public property. So yes, I believe that if you want a cleaner environment then the wealthy have to do it. The poor sod isn’t going to buy an EV. That’s up to the folks with the big payday.

When I head into town, nine miles away it's five miles to the nearest stop sign. Because of two hunting clubs 5 or so miles past my property I have counted as many as 36 deer feed corn 40 lb. ? bags that have blown out of the beds of $80,000 pick up trucks in the 5 miles toward town. not to mention beer cans, cartons and various other trash. These are not poor people, don't even think why the trash they throw into the pu bed miraculously disappears before they get back to town. There are also plenty of not so well off folks that contribute as well, usually beer cans, bottles and fast food bags and wrappers. I can't see a big difference in who gives a shit less. Just my personal observation.

Many years ago, in my early 20's, my brother was home on leave. He was stationed in the Middle East, but while he was over there he'd talked with a dealership Stateside and negotiated getting himself a new car that he'd pick up when he was home.
So he takes me with him to go pick up his new car, and then we drop by our parents' house to visit.
After the visit, we are just driving around our town where we grew up and were reminiscing about our childhood and all the people he had to beat the shit out of for messing with me.
In the middle of us bullshitting, I roll down the window and nonchalantly lob a pop can out.
My brother slams the brakes on, throws that fucker in reverse in the middle of the block, says "I don't roll like that, get out and get that shit" and makes me go grab the crumpled pop can.
Never littered since.

Renewable energy production in Australia is at the point where the gov't is reducing power costs by giving free power back to households, even if they don't have solar panels.
And Australia is not up near the top of the list of graphs in the article in the previous post.
Kinda takes the wind out of the sails of anti renewable crowd.
Costs are, and will come down. Sure some pain in the transition, but it is also up to governments to make sure this happens, even where it is not privatised.

Yes to an extent. There are ways around this problem. Needs more infrastructure building, like utalising wave technology or once EV are more prevalent the car can b utilised for base load power
A charged car that can b charged from the home can be used to off set the households need at that peak time. Car can b charged during the night when grid power is not at its peak and cheaper rates.
Don't know the US system, over here we have peak and non peak hour rates, making it cheaper to use electricity after certain hours at night.

Your average human can sustain about 75 watts... or about 1/10th horsepower. So 10 men equals 1 horsepower or 750 watts.
The average home consumes an average of 1200 watts per hour. So about 12-13 men per house..... times millions of houses, not to mention manufacturing and other grid drains.... per hour.
You think solar farms look ugly? Imagine what those "farms" would look like. I'd call it unworkable.
