Does this look bad?

Does this float pin seat look too scarred up to ever work right? My 2000 xr100r pisses gas out the overflow like it has a UTI. I have cleaned/rebuilt a dozen times and been on the XR forums and read all their input and consensus is the float pin keeps getting stuck, tapping on the carb doesn't remedy it either. the bore has some pretty significant scratches like some (not me) tried to clean it with a flathead screwdriver I think that's what it is getting hung up on. It doesn't appear that that Kehien PD80C has a removable seat or I cant seem to find one and I don't want to join another forum so what I am asking is how much of that scarred up area can I polish out and expect the pin to still seal? Should I even do that?
