Hold my smoke and mirrors and watch this: RE the solid state battery.....

He is good, and either the most genuine person I have seen on YouTube👍😎 ......or the best conman, NOPE

Very unusual, and pleasantly surprising, for a YouTuber to give and say "here is the answer" at the beginning of the clip, and to tell you that to watch the rest of the clip only if you like details, (paraphrasing a bit),

Well explained as well, even a dummy like me😵‍💫 almost understood everything.

Bookmarked him

Yeaa ... aahhh what happened NOW ?

Hormuz Strait more or less Closed ??? ?? Iran and Russia are Friends so Russian ships are passing
So the embargo not so perfect
Opening the Hormuz is gonna get difficult Many tankers and have no Protection
A rocket propelled grenade from a Kayak at night more or less Though the hull ... and Millions of $ literary up in smoke
20 % of Oil passing there

USA have its own Oil
Putin have but that may be difficult to do Business with at present time illegal even
Arabs can be difficult get it from

Europe has nothing
So lets assume prices up 20 % ,No one knows
It can take a while sort this out Iran are no Quitters proven Irak -Iran war
And ruthless as Soviet union with its own troops

This probably means electric vehicles are becoming more value for money
Since electricity can come from other sources Nuclear / Hydro
Not only the Political direction and environmental now also the Gasoline price hike
and uncertainty

No one saw this coming .. the lesson is that the Future is not always easy to predict

I have been " Battery Skeptic " but these days maybe need to change views

Disregarding current geopolitical fuckups by more than one world leader, I sort of have one leg in each camp nowadays.
I purchased a brand new Renault 5 electric back in August. Basically a sub compact 4 door hatchback with a somewhat retro design, a 52 kWh battery and 150 hp. WLTP range 411 km. Real world range in cold winter conditions is more like 200-250 km however. Still good enough for 90 percent of my driving without any special attention to charging facilities.
But I also intend to keep my 2017 VW Caddy Maxi Synchro (4wd) mini van, that has a 2 litre 150 hp turbodiesel. Basically using the VW when I need to haul a lot more than myself or pull a trailer, and using the little electric Renault for daily errands. The idea is to not wear out the VW by daily driving, as a similar new one now costs over 50 k USD, and they no longer offer more than 122 hp engines. Better keep the old one 😀
Keeping two cars does not have to cost a fortune, as I now can take any vehicle off the road, or put it back on the road online, from my phone or tablet. Road tax is charged per day, and comprehensive/ liability insurance is automatically paused when taking vehicles off the road. So by a bit of planning, those costs can be almost as low as for one car, even when I have two.

In the same boat. An ioniq 5 for daily. Amazing. Charge at home. The only maintenance is tires. Long trips into the wilderness : a Subaru
