On my Virago I used a white plastic 6.3mm 3-way spade connector to connect the AC to the rectifier/regulator. This connector is the same design as those used on the XS Specials for the Rectifier/Regulator and TCI Ignitor. On checking today I found the connector has melted. I had noticed the smell of plastic recently when I stopped at the traffic lights. My battery is charging correctly and the onboard voltmeter is steady at 14.2V so I am lucky the melting did not lead to shorting. The heat/melting was due to the spade connectors heating up due to poor contacts/low current rating for the connector.

Any suggestions out there as to what type of connector I should search for to give the correct AC current rating?

I have seen Deutch DTP 4-way connectors that rate at 25A.

Any brands or names to search for on Ebay would be helpful.

Thank you

I think what's on there a stock is fine. Just make sure they are clean and tight.
A lot of places to get the connectors and plastic blocks.
