I am in San Francisco and have only 1/2 of my right arm functioning (MC accident) and I cannot imagine taking my XS2 engine apart...I am ok with "basic" (already redone all the electricity from the alt to the last blinker/new mufflers/fork/swingarm etc) but my wife is tired of running down to help me when I need an extra hand!!! My XS2 is leaking badly from "somewhere" around the cylinders, I just bought some colorant and UV light to check from where (my hope is the cam chain tensioner as oil leaked is clean so no head gasket and hopefully not the base one (hope hope).
If it is the base I'd like to have the top end, minimum, redone and the ES...Looks like no-one is professionaly redoing engine these days?? I could have my arm twisted for "more torque" cams and a 750 kit (the old fashion way: Alfa Romeo sleeves and TX750 pistons). Does anyone know someone ??? Here is the bike...40,000 miles :

If your willing to ship the motor http://hughshandbuilt.com/ will set you up.

Mike Morse (http://www.650central.com/) is on that side of the country. I'm sure he could set you up with someone.

Thank you!
Hugh: I will only build Re-Phased Engines
M. Morse: waited 4 months for a pair of wheels/brake to be done and had to take them back without being done. Post countless offers on CL here for engine work...does not have the courtesy to answer 3 emails asking if he can do it or not...
Search is still on!

If you don't mind shipping, Buddy Vitt in Jacksonville, FL is an engine whisperer. His favorite bike is the XS650 and has been working/racing them since the early 70's. He still rides an XS-1 to work everyday. He works out a shop in Jax called Ton Up Jax: http://tonupjax.com. Crazy old school but he lives/eats/breathes this stuff. He's not very good at marketing, but he does good work. http://www.facebook.com/buddy.vitt/photos_stream
