When I start my bike I usually choke it n let it high idle for about a minute before releasing the choke and letting it idle normally. I then let it idle for another two minutes or so before I attempt to ride. No matter if I'm in neutral or taking off in first gear, when I give it throttle it will throttle up but almost immediately it will bog down and occasionally die. It seems to do it less or it's less noticeable the hotter it gets or the longer I've ridden it, but it makes it very difficult to take of from a stopped position and it's very stressful and nerve racking.
My bike also, maybe completely unrelated, but maybe not, pulsates when I'm at a constant consistent 60 mph or 4000 rpms. Once it starts to pulsate if I give it throttle it doesn't do Anything. Doesn't slow down, speed up, or increase or decrease engine speed, but if I let off the throttle when it starts to pulsate and hit it again it takes off.
My bikes odometer only reads 12000 miles and I recently had a private mechanic revamp the carbs: cleaning, floats, sync, all of it, along with new air filters and a complete tune up.
Does anyone have any idea what's happening? Could the mechanic have not crossed his Ts and the problem lies in the carbs somewhere. I'm lost and would really just like to know what I should have fixed or try to fix myself so that I'm not continually fixing something that isn't the problem. Any advise would help.
P.s I recently used the recommended amount of Seafoam in the gas and no difference.
Thanks guys.
