Hi

I’m rebuilding the engine on my XS1 and the seals I’ve got don’t have the small lip around them that fit into the crank cases, does this matter?

I’ve attached a photo of versus new

I meant to add, the dimensions of both oil seals are identical, just missing the outer lip

Thanks

Ant

The original seals were designed for the lip to fit in a groove in the cases. They have to be installed with the cases split, you can't press 'em in.
New seals don't have the lip so they can be pressed in with the cases still assembled.

Use 'em, they'll work just fine.
