Favorite Pre and Post muscle cars

Halfmile's Catalina would be called a Laurentian in Canada.

I have a soft spot for these old cars since they were all in the lead car roles when I was a kid. Reminds me of people I loved who are no more.

The cool cars went unrecognized. The L79 chevy 327 option, '65-'68, made a killer combo. A hydraulic cam so lumpy it came only with a 4speed manual, it couldn't run against a torque converter at idle. It was paired only with 3.55 or 3.90 gears. Nova, Chevelle, Corvette or El Camino. Before the LT1 Corvette the L79 was the hot package. Street racers tuning the Q jet, adding headers could get low 13s or high 12s out of the Chevelle (it had better rear suspension than the Nova)

Past that, Buick built a pretty stout 340, 400 with a real lumpy cam and a decent C/R. Mom had this car in dark green.

MOPAR OR NO CAR!

If I won the lottery I'd have the nastiest version of a Challanger in every color they ever made, especially the last edition 1025hp ones. Yes, I know this is a 'Cuda, and that they were the tits even more than the Challanger, but they never made a modern 'Cuda now did they?

RIP Chally. RIP Dodge. Seemed like the last car company that actually had fun building cars.

Here are a couple of my XKE`s and XJS`s. The one with the top down is a 1967 series 1 the one with the top up is a 1968 series 1 1/2 (no covered headlights, rocker switches instead of toggles, and 2 carbs, not 3) I had at least 15 of these but only have pics of 9 of them. I miss those Jags but I miss that full head of hair even more.View attachment 103326 View attachment 103327 View attachment 103328 View attachment 103329 View attachment 103330 View attachment 103331

Love the hood pins.
First car I ever owned was a '67 Mustang I rescued from the junk yard. After I got it running, first "mod" I did to it was add the hood lock pins. Had to keep that 235ci Six corralled somehow.... :sneaky:
