Feeling insane please help. Wildly Asymmetric mix screws.

Wise words. I do it a bit differently. I dose the fuel tank with fuel stabiliser then I run the bike for a while to get the dosed fuel into the float bowls. Then I turn the fuel taps off and run the carbs dry. Finishing off with a couple of cranks on the starter to draw air through the carbs. For a good while doing this has served me well and seems to have prevented issues from fuel evaporating off in the carburettors and leaving gunk in there.
Perfect

Are your floats Jen You Whine Mikuni or mebby some aftermarket "replacement (wil-fit)?
You can tell what i think here.

Honestly I don't know, there's no text on them. But they look just like the OEM ones including the small sleeve for the Axle.

The fuel level was indeed higher on the left side.

Adjustwd to match RH fuel level and now doing a proper sync with a manometer currently!

If your floats have the tube "shim" in the pivot then they sound like they're originals. Many of the aftermarket ones don't have that and are a very loose and sloppy fit on the pivot pin. They often stick or hang up.

And yes, that's a Suzuki float. You can get many carb parts from Suzuki for a whole lot cheaper .....

The results are in lads. It synced with persuasion (my first time successfully doing it). It absolutely was the LH bowl fuel level was too high.

As soon as I put my tach back together I can get back on the road again 😎.

Until winter time. I have a lot of plans (redoing a lot of half assed mods previously done & welding back on brackets that were cut off)

Thank you all for your help! She idles amazing now.

Um now you gotta spill the details.
Sorry but it's in the rules.

I went into a medium sharp corner and my rear brake has suddenly become very spongy.

So I stood it back vertical and went into the grass to try and brake upright, but it was so muddy she slipped out from under me and my wrist got mangled.

I have a distal radius fracture and it has to be reattach led with metal screws.

Really bummed Bout it all. The tank has a couple dents I won't be able to fix without paint work. So I think I'm gonna order a new one. Something single petcock maybe.

... anyone have any luck moving the front brake to the left side? Gonna getting a twin lever setup going since once I get this cast off my grip strength will be garbage.

Got a story about LH front brake, ;^) but short version it's fraught with peril due to user familiarity in emergencies.

Unfortunately it's gonna be a long time before my right hand can squeeze very firmly seems like.

I've found a 12.8mm bore clutch lever for a Ducati monster. Seems like many suggest downsizing the bore size anyways.

I'm gonna hold off for now to see how my hand heals next couple weeks.

When push comes to shove I don't feel like buying a car and my hand is real toast for a bit so I'll consider my options.

Thank you for everything!

Hey y'all! It's been some time but I've been busy in the garage. My wrist slowly healed but I managed to do a lot of wrenching with one hand, but recently got the bike back together!

Did alot of sanding to the forks and knocked down the casting marks, painted a few bits black to accentuate the chrome and also redid the fork seals, and brake conversion from two hoses with the distribution block to a single like (it was a single disc anyway)

I also finally got fuel filters working. I had a single inline filter and it was fuel starving with the added restriction. So I got two filters that were slightly larger and put them before the T in the line and she rips!

But I've been dailying it for about two weeks now! She's developed a slight oil drip but other than that it's been a strong runner 😁

Photos are in random order but some of what I've been up too

Hello all! I posted several weeks ago and got my bike running great. Got some good miles in. But now I'm having more issues.

I went on vacation and didn't ride it for 3.5 weeks and suddenly the carbs acted clogged. Okay this is expected. Even with the e5 fuel that "contains no ethanol" according to fuel companies I would expect this.

I'm having idle issues and I'm totally stumped. I can get the bike to idle fine and we'll but idle hangs a bit on decel and so then when I played with mix screws to get optimal settings they were showing me a clear indicator of -something- wrong I suspected a clog but a bit lost.

LH carburetor needs the mix screw settings at .5-1 turns out from all the way In

RH carburetor needs to be set at 4.5-5 turns out, the mix screw about ready to jump out of the bike!

I rode it around one day to see if that would clear up the issue and it did temporarily suddenly bike acted normal and started shooting on the right side indicating too rich (happy days) and the it started pissing gas out the LH carb intake for the last minute or two of my ride (🤬🤬)

I took them off twice yesterday and throughly cleaned them using a generous application of STP.

Even after cleaning the results are exactly the same.

-Compression reads 130 both cylinders
-Fuel flows well from taps
-With these same jets the bike was running amazing until it very suddenly started acting like this
Checked the float valve and seat everything looked great and swapped out the pointy bit even.(Attaches to float)
-fuel fresh
-voltage from battery is strong
-tried different spark plugs and everything was the same (even when swapping plugs left and right)
-Fuel floats are set the same and have no cracks or anything and it has not been cold enough to freeze here.
-diaphrams have 0 holes and are very rubbery still. Although a couple crease marks but nothing to affect their operation.

but why would one carb be overly lean and one be overly rich

Today I'm gonna swap the diaphragms left and right and reclean the carbs again 😭

Just trying stuff at this point.
I'm so lost. Anyone have any ideas and what would cause this?
advance rod or weights hanging, giving more spark advance than normal idle.
