My bike appears to run fine and idles good but if I remove the left spark plug lead it makes no difference to the running. If I disconnect the Right lead while idling the engine stops. If I keep revving up then disconnect the left lead it will run but as soon as I let the revs off it conks out. It has spark on the left side and I have changed the leads and plugs over with no change. Am I wrong in thinking it should run the same on either cylinder and you should notice a change if you disconnect one lead?

Sounds like you have a problem with idle circuit in carb on that side which would require a cleaning .
I do a simple balance check by checking exhaust head pipe temp.
Both sides should be the same temp.... the pipe will run cold if it is not running on that cylinder.

Thanks for reply. The left cylinder does not heat up like the right one does. On my first post I meant to say when I rev and disconnect Right plug lead.
