First sign of life in 4 years!

So I bought this lump a few years back as my very first dive into engines and working on them, i did a full engine rebuild as learning how as I went. I have a thread following that but I have to admit to not posting in a year!

Anyway I have finally got some life out of the old girl!



Recently installed a PMA and TCI from pipes and stuff. Fantastic bit of kit and very easy to install.




And after some fiddling she started after a few kicks I was over the moon!!!

Had her running for a minute then switched off, and filmed me trying to kick her over again...

Needless to say I'm over the moon about this! Really put a smile on my face to know that I did it and it works....for a moment anyway.

After this it cut out when I tried to rev it and now I can't seem to get her to fire up again I'm going to run through everything to see if I can work out why but just thought to make a post and see what thoughts are as well

Well, you got it working. Congratulations!! You broke it. You can fix it.

I’m sorry I have no advice. I favor the stock ignition and charging systems. I’m sure you’ll get it. FUEL. FIRE. TIMING

Good afternoon. That feeling you experienced? Some may never know! I was having a rough day a few months back and my wife asked "how are you feeling?" ( we actually still like each other, most days)
My answer was I wish i could feel they way I felt when when I pushed that start button on the xs2,, with gas in the tank.. not starting fluid .... and she came to life after 42 years...and idled. .LOL .

I'ma gonna look at my plugs right off. Check spark gas and compression.are you using a battery?
