First Tracker Make Over

Today I cleaned up the edges of the fins on the cyl and head. The holes drilled themselves. Then I made another tray to replace the one with the electronics stuff.

Sat I got the 750 motor back from Jim. Sun I installed it with a single chain and cherry picker. Not a scratch:thumbsup:. Today I changed the rear sprocket and added a chain guard, installed the new VM34 Gary Hoos carbs, made new throttle cables, mounted the Morris Mag, and added the electric starter. Tomorrow I`ll time the mag and add the charging system and clutch cover. I plan on starting on the electronics tray this week. Lots to do.

Today I timed the magneto, installed a new clutch cable and worm assembly, reinstalled the PMA and buttoned up the left side. Also mounted the left pipe and remounted the tank with a saddle bracket and reused the spanner nut for the center mount.

Today I made a template for the under seat battery/electronics box. Transferred it to a sheet of .050 alum and cut it out on the band saw. All I can say is "Give Me a Break":yikes: Box pan break that is. This was much harder than it looked in poster board. I`ll get it welded up then I can start the complete re wire. Side panels (number plates) will hide almost the whole box.

That is some truly beautiful work Phil. You sir are a magician! 😀

I spent 1 full hour spanking the monkey making these 4 saddle washers I used as stand off`s to mount a skid plate before the right side exhaust is mounted. Skid plate was left over from the Scrambler build and I cut it down to fit this frame and this exhaust system. I did all this while listening to the KC & The Sunshine Band 25th Anniversary Collection 2 disc album Glenda bought for me last year. :yikes::yikes: Somehow I survived.

Nowt wrong wiv a bit of DISCO baby!
Love the engine protection plate; looks superb....I WANT ONE!🙏

Cold front moved through today. Only 97 so I got a little more done. Ground down the outer welds on the electronics box and fit it to the frame. I don`t know why but I actually had a #29 drill bit over a foot long. (correct drill size for 8-32 threads) Just drilled the mounting holes from the opposite side. Seems to fit ok, maybe a little more minor tweaking. Prepped and polished the outside and did a brushed finish on the inside. I`m waiting on the new Lithium ion voltage regulator then I can mount the electronic stuff and wire it up. I did set the seat and number plate on and you can`t really see that much of the box. After that it`ll be time for the thousand dollar front TT wheel and brakes, then I`ll be finished. Not with the bike, I mean me financially.:shootme: The bike might not ever get finished.

Drill bit is hilarious! But we use what we have.
Those long drill bits were invaluable doing sheet metal on airplanes. Put a little grease on your fingers and you could put a pretty impressive bow in those bits while you spin 'em. When you're trying to drill out a rivet a half inch away from a bulkhead... well, wouldn't have been possible without 'em.
