I have a set of 35mm xs650 forks and the tubes are shot. They are on the left. I also have a set of unknown 35mm tubes with slight differences as seen in the pic.
Question is.....will they work with the xs650 bottoms

Mmmm, I’m about to change out stanchions and I think you need the correct forks for clear movement in the lowers. I think there’s a set of stock length stanchions on eBay for around $150

Would these fit on a ‘75 xs frame with a 77 or later triple tree ? Or does that require adjustment ?

Worth checking if the 34mm and 35mm yokes (triple tree) are similar castings. If they are, bore the 34mm to take 35mm forks?

And you should by new forks and seals anyway if you can afford it.
Yes by all means get a set of 35mm triples complete.
Might see if @DogBunny has a set.
Might need to fiddle with mounting gauges cuz the mounts changed several times by year and std vs special.

As G says they change.

35mm triples interchanges with 74-76 34mm forked frames

All 35mm forks
77-79 standard triple crown is the same.
78 - 84 Special triple crown is the same.
77 - 84 Both standard and Special gauges all interchange between the Standard and Special crown brackets on the triples.

The odd one is the 76, (34mm forks), gauges. They will interchange with all 35mm fork crown gauge brackets + the gauge bracket will also fit all 35mm fork crown triple.

The difference between Special and Standard is how the ignition key is mounted.

Scroll through the different years to see the gauges in this link.

would like to read the link about the forks, however the once you send in ref to navajo's being detained and confused with illegal immigrants are interesting and disturbing too :)
